At around 1:55 pm today, March 5, 2018, NV GEBE experienced some issues at the Pond Island Substation which caused outages in parts of Philipsburg, Sucker Garden, and Point Blanche. The technicians at NV GEBE detected that the cause of the outage was a flashover on the high tension system (short circuit). Power was restored to all, with the last area being reenergized at 5:10 PM.
As part of ongoing efforts to rectify a huge leak in the Point Blanche area, Nv GEBE hereby informs the public that there will be an interruption in water supply as of 8 AM to the area.
Affected areas will start at Chester Fields Restaurant up to and including the Prison.
NV GEBE apologizes for the inconvenience caused by this interruption and will make every effort to restore the water supply to the affected areas in the shortest possible time.
