GREAT BAY (DCOMM):--- Minister of Education, Culture, Youth Affairs, and Sports Hon. Silveria Jacobs awarded the prize to Wheel Chair Tennis Finals singles female winner Esther Vergeer at the Princess Port de Plaisance over the weekend.
Vergeer is the world ranked #1 female wheel chair tennis player in the world. She is a time four times gold medalist in four consecutive Paralympics and unbeaten in 470 consecutive matches. Vergeer played the final against Sabine Ellerbrock from Germany who managed the record a first set win in her against Vergeer.
