Two Arrested for Double Homicide on A.T. Illidge Road.

Philipsburg:--- Police have arrested two persons in the double homicide that was committed last Sunday on A.T. Illidge Road in close proximity of Francisco Bar. SMN News learnt that the victims both of whom were residents of the French side and of Dominicano decent were involved in a brawl inside the Sun Latino Bar prior to the shooting. The two men were shot dead inside an almost new Hyundai Sonata.

The shooters and suspected killers managed to escape the scene and cross the border where they abandoned the getaway car. On that same day the Gendarmes managed to recover the vehicle. Shortly after, police arrested two suspects one on St. Martin while the other was arrested in Guadeloupe. It is not yet clear if the suspect that was arrested in Guadeloupe was brought back to St. Martin.

In an unrelated murder investigation, the police also arrested a national of Dominica identified as S.P. for the murder of Gaston Gumbs whose body was found in a bush fire in Hope Estate. No further details on the suspect or the investigation has been released by the Public Prosecutor's Office.
