Cay Hill:--- Nine persons were injured Thursday afternoon in a head on collision which occurred after 5pm on Belair road in the vicinity of the One Tete Lockay statue.
Police Spokesman Ricardo Henson said all the injured persons were taken to the St. Maarten Medical Center for treatment. The police spokesman further explained that the accident was a head on collision involving a car (Kia) and a mini-van. It appeared as though the accident was caused due to high speed because one of the vehicles tried to overtake a number of cars that were backed up in traffic. The fire department was called to the scene to assist with the rescuing of the injured victims.
