Marigot:--- The Territorial Council of the Collectivity of St. Martin will be holding a Territorial Council meeting on Wednesday April 17th, 2013 to elect the new members of the Territorial Council. The meeting on Wednesday is to elect a new President and to also include another member to the territorial council. In the decision of April 13th, 2012, the State Council sanctioned Alain Richardson by removing him from his seat and deemed him in-illegible for a period of 18 months. The State Council also nominated the 18th candidate on the RRR list Mme. Sophie Jaboin to take her seat in the Territorial Council.
According to supporters of the RRR majority, first Vice President Aline Hanson will be nominated on behalf of the RRR to take up the President's seat which was vacated on Friday when the State Council issued its decision and forced the leader of the RRR political party and President of the Collectivity Alain Richardson to vacate his seat.
Alain Arnell, brother of the third vice president Guillaume Arnell said on a radio program on Tuesday and to SMN News that the first vice president Aline Hanson will receive full support from him, his family, and those that spearheaded the election campaign for the RRR in 2012. Arnell said he is of the opinion that the first vice president is capable of doing the job therefore she will get their full support.
The Territorial Council will elect the new members of the executive council, and the members that will take up various positions that were held by the former President Alain Richardson. The Territorial Council will also be nominating other council members to take up positions that the first vice president held. One of the positions that has to be filled is the one vacated by Hanson on the SEMSAMAR board.
