danielgibbsandtcmembersrepresentingtdg23042013Marigot:--- St. Martin's Deputy and Territorial Councilor Daniel Gibbs that is sitting on the opposition benches told reporters on Tuesday at a press conference that he met with the newly elected President of the Collectivity, Aline Hanson and she has renewed her promise to work closely with the opposition.

Gibbs said that even though the RRR majority was given the mandate to make a change in the management of the peoples affairs, the newly elected President told him that the change the people are looking for will begin with her.

Gibbs also updated reporters on a number of projects he defended on the state level on behalf of St. Martin and St. Barths. He said another project he will begin discussing on May 6th, 2013 is the status that St. Martin should choose. Gibbs said very soon St. Martin would have to decide whether or not they will change their status from the UPT to OCT. However, before that is done he believes that the people of St. Martin should engage in a discussion which would take place on May 6th, 2013 at the Chamber of Commerce.
