Couple Shot in what Appears to be Bizarre Drug Deal that went Sour --- Gendarmes and Prosecutor Unreachable.

French Quarter:--- A young couple was transported to Martinique for treatment after they sustained serious injuries from gunshots Monday night. SMN News learnt from residents of French Quarter that the couple was attacked at their home by a lone gun man who fired several shots at them. One of the residents said the female victim was shot in her forehead while the male victim received gunshot wounds in the chest area. SMN News learnt that relatives of the male victim retaliated and they injured the attacker and also burnt the vehicle that was used by the gunman. The badly damaged vehicle was also recovered somewhere in French Quarter Monday night. It appears as though the car was burnt to elude law enforcement officers from finding traces or evidence that would incriminate the gunman and the victims.

SMN News learnt that the couple allegedly took a quantity of marijuana from the gunman to resell and they did not pay the drug dealer for the drugs they took from him.

SMN News made several attempts to obtain a comment from the Commandant or Captain of the Gendarmerie but they refused to take the phone calls claiming they are very busy. SMN News also tried to obtain a comment from Prosecutor Flavien Noailles but he also could not be reached by telephone for comment.
