Minister of Health participates in world’s biggest campaign.

cdeweeverendingpolio07112013GREAT BAY:--- Minister of Public Health Social Development & Labor, Cornelius De Weever is participating in the world's biggest commercial, the largest health initiative to End Polio Now. This is an initiative of Rotary's PolioPlus Program.
"As Minister of Public Health I am more than delighted to participate in this initiative and try to make a difference in the fight against polio." Minister De Weever is also encouraging others in the community to participate in this initiative.
The ad with Minister De Weever has been sent out to all civil servants via e-mail, as a means of bringing awareness to the issue, and also to encourage civil servants to also participate.
This initiative stars thousands of people around the world, everyday folks from all walks of life who will join with Nobel laureates, movie stars, famous musicians and other notable people to express a united commitment to End Polio Now.
According to a report from Rotary, after nearly 30 years, and after immunizing more than 2 billion children against polio, Rotary and its partners are on the brink of making history. We are this close. When Rotary began the fight in 1985, polio affected 350,000 people, mostly children, in 125 countries every year. Since then, polio has been reduced by more than 99 percent.
