St. Maarten Part of Global Entrepreneurship Week.

GREAT BAY:--- For the first time ever, St. Maarten will be taking part in the Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) from November 18- 24, 2013. Foundation INFOBIZZ, one of the GEW´s top partners, will be hosting a media campaign during this week called: Entrepreneurs...Let´s GO!. Every day there will be information on entrepreneurship (from the idea to how to impact your community). The campaign will also highlight various local entrepreneurs.
Global Entrepreneurship Week is an international awareness campaign in which people in almost 140 countries, connect and create opportunities to start business, assist in economic growth and expand human welfare. Started in 2007, with just 37 countries, GEW has a bottom-up approach that allows countries to organize different kinds of events. It is supported by internationally acclaimed organizations such as Dell, International Labour Organization (ILO), Entrepreneur´s Organization (EO) and the Kauffman Foundation.
St. Maarten is among the top partners and associates of the Global Entrepreneruship Week, thanks to the participation of Foundation INFOBIZZ, founded by Ife Badejo, to inspire and stimulate entrepreneurs and innovators to take their dreams from ideas to impact through the development of programs and events. One such event will take place on November 23, 2013 from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm at the newly opened Dan´s Chocolate Factory (next door to Sea Palace on Front Street 141). The BLACK & GOLD POWER HOUR is a networking event which is for young professionals and entrepreneurs. At $25 entrance fee, drinks and snacks are included.
In 2014, Foundation INFOBIZZ will organize several business bootcamps, called 3-2-LAUNCH, focused on assisting upcoming entrepreneurs in taking a business idea and transforming it into a viable business.
'We believe these programs and experiences are critically important because with the changes happening in the world today, just having a job no longer cuts it," said Ife Badejo. "You need to be entrepreneurial even at your job. You need to be able to see opportunities especially in these times when there is no more real job stability," she added.
Entrepreneurs...Let´s GO! is a campaign to assist entrepreneurs to go to the next level, she concluded.
