DSTA Members voted to ban former board members to work at the Harbor pending investigation.

Former President, Secretary and Treasurer Accused of Alleged Embezzlement.

PHILIPSBURG:--- The members of the Dutch Taxi Association (DSTA) met during a meeting and voted to have the former board members of the DSTA barred from working at the Harbor pending an investigation.
According to information provided to SMN News the members of the DSTA accuses the former board members of alleged embezzlement. The DSTA members voted in favor to have Ottis Hughes, Will Charles and Bert Gumbs barred from working at the Harbor pending the outcome of the investigation.
SMN News further learnt that the meeting was held a while back but the new board had to follow procedures in order to put the wishes of the board members who voted in effect.
Some members who spoke to SMN News unanimously said that the decision went into effect last week. “We have seen discrepancies with the DSTA funds and it is only right that those who misused the power given to them be investigated and if there are evidence of embezzlement then they should be prosecuted. I am not judging anyone but the law has to take its course, and no one is above the law.”
The members of the DSTA made it clear when they elected the new board that they will investigate and conduct and audit to ensure that the funds of the DSTA were not misused. SMN News published an article before where the current treasurer outlined several discrepancies she found very early after being elected.
Efforts made to reach the current president on Sunday for confirmation proved futile.
