Council of Ministers took decision on hold off on the issuance of FBO building Permit.

PHILIPSBURG:--- Prime Minister Marcel Gumbs told reporters on Wednesday at the Council of Ministers press conference that the Council of Ministers decided on October 27th 2015 to instruct the Minister of VROMI to hold off on issuing the building permit as requested since May 2015. Prime Minister Gumbs said since receiving the request letters were sent to PJIAE management to provide more information, and documentations. He said some of the questions were answered except for the last letter that was dispatched for more information. Prime Minister Gumbs further explained that on October 27th the matter was placed on the agenda of the Council of Ministers for handling and it was decided by the Council to request the Minister of VROMI not to issue any building permit for the Fixed Based Operations (FBO) building unless he receives the advice the council requested from three independent engineering bureaus on the building cost as submitted by PJIAE. The Minister have a waiting period of 30 days to receive these advices. In describing the FBO building he said its 1000 square meters in size with a price tag of Naf. 10M or $6M, this he said were the prices mentioned in the request for the building permit, while the tenants that will occupying the FBO building would have to pay $1M to prepare the interior of the building. Prime Minister Gumbs said when added up the FBO building will cost a total of $8M and the Council of Ministers felt it was necessary to get additional advice from professionals on the cost for such buildings
