PHILIPSBURG:---- Joost Reintjes visited the Minister Plenipotentiary Josianne Fleming-Artsen recently as the newly appointed Director of the Western Hemisphere for the Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
In this position, he is responsible for the countries in the Kingdom and Latin America.
drs. Reintjes is a former Ambassador to several countries on behalf of the Kingdom of the Netherlands namely, Nairobi, Kenya, Pakistan, and Iraq from 2002 to 2015.
In August 2015, Reintjes accepted his new appointment as director. As the director of the Western Hemisphere, his function includes regional coordination of Latin America and the Caribbean.
The position includes developing and coordinating of policy for these areas: political, diplomatic, economic, cultural, development cooperation, and consular affairs; the organization of visits and the maintenance of good relations.
