Convicted for manslaughter and illegal firearm
PHILIPSBURG:--- Rishmer “Red Rum” York, a police officer is now convicted for shooting to death Akeem Isidora close to his Belvedere home on March 4th 2015. The Court of First Instance handed down its decision on the morning of Wednesday November 18th, where the judge convicted York to eight years for manslaughter and possession of an illegal firearm. It should be noted that York used his service weapon to fire the deadly shots that claimed the life of Akeem Isidora but he had in his car an illegal alarm gun at the time of the incident.
The Prosecution had asked for 12 years prison term during the trial where scores of witnesses testified that York was the one who went to the Isidora home with the intention to kill him. With the court’s decision rendered on Wednesday it has brought an abrupt end to York’s career as a police officer.
