Restaurant Owners Reminded to dispose of waste oil properly.

MARIGOT:--- You are a restaurant owner, consequently you reject cooking oils. The problem is that these fats can clog pipes and entail a dysfunction of sewage.

The applicable regulation requires you to sort, recycle at source and maintain your grease trap. The Article R541-2 of the Environmental Code stipulates that restaurant owners must eliminate their own cooking oils. All the restaurants are concerned by these obligations. The regulation requires that greasy waste should not be neither abandoned nor released into the environment, or even thrown in household trash. They should not be burned in the open air.
We invite you to put your business in accordance with the law and to proceed, if it is not already done, with the installation of a grease trap. You have to know that greasy residues bins must be emptied regularly, collected and treated by a specialized company.

Saint-Martin has two collectors and a waste treatment center (SXM Verde) which are authorized companies available for these operations. Please contact them to organize the cleaning of your grease trap.
