Belvedere: --- Several motorists who were going to Philipsburg or returning from that area was forced to re-route since the Bishop Hill Road was closed for the construction of a culvert. Several motorists were seen turning around to get to their destinations since they did not know that the road would have been closed during the height of carnival. Workers blocked both sides of the road and traffic had to be re-routed. Police Spokesman Ricardo Henson said only one newspaper carried an article on the road closer yesterday April 20th. He said based on the fact that the construction of a much needed culvert had started without proper notification the of the public an all necessary documentation were not in place the island Lt. Governor Frankly Richards has ordered an immediate halt to the construction and re-opening of the road. Henson did not say when the road would be closed again for the construction of the culvert.
