clarencerichardson26082012Cay Hill:--- The Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the St. Maarten Medical Center (SMMC) Clarence Richardson resigned from the Supervisory Board on Saturday. According to reliable sources, Clarence Richardson was given a consultancy position on October 10th, 2011 when he turned 70 years old. Sources close to the St. Maarten Medical Center said Richardson was collecting $1,500 per month before his 70th birthday, which was October 10th 2011. Richardson was supposed to resign on that same day and turn over the helm of the supervisory board to someone else since it is stipulated in the bylaws of the Supervisory Board of the St. Maarten Medical Center that board members cannot be older than 70 years old, but Richardson and the other members of the board found a loop hole by making Richardson a consultant as of October 10th, 2011. Sources close to the St. Maarten Medical Center said that Richardson's consultancy fees skyrocketed when he was appointed by the supervisory board as a consultant. Questions are now being raised if Richardson also submitted a check amounting to the monies he paid himself since October 10th, 2011 when he delivered his resignation letter to the remaining members of the supervisory board. "We want to know if Clarence Richardson will give back the monies he received illegally for almost one year. We are also questioning if the contracts and other commitments made by management and the supervisory board will be revoked by the new board because the board that Clarence Richardson headed was illegal."

SMN News also learnt that each member of the supervisory board of the St. Maarten Medical Center has to be approved by the government of St. Maarten but that did not happen over the years. The sources said government basically allowed the supervisory board to do what they wanted and did not supervise the institution. Medical staff at the St. Maarten Medical Center said that Richardson ran after pressure came from Inspector General Dr. Earl Best and government and it was clear that medical care at SMMC was in jeopardy because several persons lost their lives at the St. Maarten Medical Center over recent years. SMN News learnt that questions are also being raised about the liability the SMMC will be facing for the negligence that resulted in deaths of several people. According to reliable information reaching SMN News, the late Ruth Olivacce's family will be filing a claim for her wrongful death and already SZV has indicated that they will not be shouldering that expense. It should be noted that the doctor who operated on the late Ruth Olivacce last week to remove the catheter left the island the following day and the Inspector General is busy trying to locate the doctor in the Netherlands to interview him on how he managed to puncture two of the victim's main arteries.

SMN News has also been reliably informed that the medical and specialists committee that is scheduled to meet with parliament on September 3rd, 2012 already took an unanimous decision over the weekend to inform the supervisory board that they want the management of the SMMC to change forthwith because there is too much chaos at the St. Maarten Medical Center and if the situation continues Inspector General Dr. Earl Best will have no choice but to apply the law and call for the closure of the institution.

Some persons such as legal advisers have said that the Supervisory Board of the St. Maarten Medical Center has chosen to sell the Cay Hill pharmacy to one of the interested parties that are operating at the medical institution. A concerned onlooker said that the Cay Hill pharmacy was sold in June 2012 and if the "illegal" supervisory board committed such an act then government should revoke the contract and sale of the pharmacy.

The Parliament of St. Maarten is currently holding several hearings to determine their next step and course of action when it comes to the St. Maarten Medical Center.

I have blogged about all the illegal happenings going on t the SMMC under the management of Dr. Scot.
Dr. Scot doesn't care what is going on at the SMMC. His only concern is that he gets his big fat salary and travel allowance to travel to Holland about 5 times a year.
We all know that the board members are a bunch of money hungry **tches. They are like a bunch of prostitutes, will do anything and go along with Scot just to continue collecting the board members fees for doing absolutely nothing but help Scot cover up all their dirty deeds.

The SMMC needs to be cleaned up. Scot and all his cronies need to be fired. Every nurse, every doctor and the administration staff all know what is going on but they are cowards to stand up united and expose Scot.

Nurses that cannot speak Dutch or even proper English working without resident papers. Doctors that was banned from practicing in Holland and from where else they came from are administering to our local people that can't jump on a plane like the privilege and run to the US, Puerto Rico, Santo Domingo, Holland or where ever.

Scot's salary straight forward for years. Ask him to show you his pay slips over the last 5 years. He can't because he don't have none. His family is employed upstairs with him to cover up his dirty deeds and every body know that Scot lies like Judas with a smile on his face.
Scot laughing at all ya dam fools because for over 10 years he is fattening his wallet. He now have more money than Theo. And remember what he said to all you nurses some months back, no body can't move him from his position. He is so confident because he have a lot of rope on who put him there in the first place.

LEH ME TELL ALLYA THIS LIL INSIDE SCOOP. The selling of the pharmacy is true but don't put all the blame on the crooked board members, Scot was sitting at the table with all of them when the deal went down. You will be surprise to know who now owns the pharmacy.

Nurses, watch ya all mouth with Brunilda, Julian Lynch and Gregory Arrindell. Scot's secret puppets. How you all think he know so much after you nurses have your private meetings?

I moving to holland because the SMMC is a big crooked mess, I don't even trust my own to put a band aid on my toe. So glad to be out of that big shitty mess.

If NA/DP care about St. Maarten people and is not Scot suck a**es too, they better do something about that SMMC. A lot of skeletons in the SMMC closet. The shit going hit the fan soon.

  • Minister of Health, please
    avatar

I really didn't understand where the nurses get in this story last week and why did their union had them up on high horses as if the Minister was speaking to them.
Minister Cornelius de Weever, the cookies in the cookie jar are crumbling. Clarence already resign because he is smelling the smell of the coffee as he wake up.
Please send the SMMC into bankruptcy and send every **tch and his brother home. Send Scott and his whole supervisory board camping. Happy Campers making abuse of this situation. Minister please give us an urgent New Brand Clean Hospital with Quality Care and Non Greedy Personnel from captain down to Cook.
Minister of Health, Do the right and Healthy Hospital

  • Give Back ???

It's about time people speak the truth about what going on at the SMMC. Everyone already know that it is crap, but yet we bury our heads in the sand. Let all of these people (board, director, negligent doctors and nurses spent some jail time for the murders they have committed or helped commit.

Mr. Clarence is feeling the heat and he resigned. But as a board president he his still liable for the period before his resignation and he should know that.
He is not a real man as he is running away from his responsibilities..... he dissapoint me !
Who are the other board members???? Any one can give me a head up.

The government should make a listing of all board members and the fees they are collecting.

What a big shame for an island like Sint Maarten!!!! One of the biggest airport in the Caribbean and no...... decent hospital in case of emergency! I just hope that the death of my friend Ruth Olivacce would have served a purpose for the poor people of this country!!!! Yes it is hard for her family and friends, but God does everything for a reason! She is our angel now looking down on us! So I am sure that the situation will be handled!
I would like to know if they can't ask Dr Petit to come back and run the hospital with some competent young people that we have on this island!
My last point is : Let's see what the LAVILLE / PATRICK / DE WEEVER / MARLIN gang will do! By the way Dr Scot is whose friend?
    God please save us!

Whenever you can manipulate situations and influence public opinion while hiding behind your secret agenda, it it always something to marvel out. Such is the case with MP/real estate tycoon Leroy de Weever. He know this community well: the ma**es will not ask critical questions. They will simply go along like sheep. Media will be spoon fed tidbits of selective "news" and media will serve as the repeaters they have always been......And meanwhile: let's move real fast with this new hospital / medical tourism -- since it is rumored that some of our representatives have already been paid for their services. In other words, let's all jump on the bandwagon and crucify SMMC, its management, board, the union, the staff etc. etc. After we have been used like the non-thinkers which we are, let's see what this all has to do with health services for St. Maarten's most needy people. Next time, MP de Weever decides to charter a plane or fly first cla** to the U.S. for his medical check-ups, ask him if you can go along.

Your post has been very encouraging and enlightening. MP de weever is on his very own crusade. Most are quite aware of this and his tactics. An upgrade at SMMC is needed. There is no question about that. If the board is of the opinion that they should resign then so be it. At the end of the day no matter who is there that upgrade is still needed. What is sad and what the as you put it gullable people of St. Maarten will learn is that this was orchestrated for the benefit of a politicion and his greed for money. At no time was the care of the general population at heart. This will never be the forefront either of this particular MP. As for him fooling the ma**es I think it was clear last election that the ma** was not to impressed with him nor his party. The situation at the SMMC was their responsibility over the years and also after obtaining country status. The set up of the construction of SMMC was orchestrated by at that time Roy Marlin. That boards was appointed without the neccessarry checks balances and procedures was the dp government. Strange how today that part of government quick to point finger. It is general knowledge that SMMC needed help. However it was not a priority for them as no money was in it for them and they at that time did not need the votes. Times have changed. MP realises that he is probably on his last hoorah. Racking in all the money he can at this time is his desparation. We the people will not be better off. And like many others this ma** is not fooled.

You hit the nail on his head. This MP has his medical coverage in the States and not here. He ain't care "tohoods" about we poor people here in St. Maaten and is rubbing his hands already of the millions he and his family will make. The writing is on the wall already an time will tell. The dead of Olivacche is the perfect moment to strike and do their things. Did you hear anything from the two MP's ???? They quite quite.

  • Check this out!
    avatar

Stop right there. That medical had money poring into it many times before by the government/loans. Where did the money go? The unspecified account? So do not say that the government did not do anything. Their fault is that they give the money and did not look back to see if it was being use to benefit the population.

    QUOTE:
"It should be noted that the doctor who operated on the late Ruth Olivacce last week to remove the catheter left the island the following day and the Inspector General is busy trying to locate the doctor in the Netherlands to interview him on how he managed to puncture two of the victim's main arteries."

    QUESTIONS:
    1. Was this doctor de-registered from the census of the municipality in the Netherlands where he lived & worked before coming to S’Martin?

    2. Was he NOT registered at the census of country S’Martin that he/she could pack-up and leave the day after killing Ruth Olivacce without de-registering?

    3. Every Dutch Kingdom citizen leaving S’Martin or returning to the Netherlands for settlement for more the three months must register at the GBA within five days of arrival. Registration with the GBA (The GBA = gemeentelijke basisadministratie persoonsgegevens is the personal records database of the municipal authority ) triggers the start of other processes and proof of registration is essential for many more…So, could someone explain why the Inspector General, who also lived in the Netherlands in order to complete his studies, and thus suppose to know how to locate this doctor.... is busy trying to locate the doctor in the Netherlands to interview him on how he managed to puncture two of the victim's main arteries?

  • lmao
    avatar

The Netherlands is so organized that tracking the doctor down would be a matter of minutes. That same inspector general is partially at fault. So he will find excuses and more excuses. When was the first time he inspected SMMC? when the lady died? prior to her death? Did he only now do an inspection because of her death? what date did the inspector general receive a complaint on SMMC for 2012. was this ladies death the first complaint? first incident that he is aware of? for the year 2012 did anyone else file a complaint. doctors must be registered also. So the inspector general should know how to track down the doctor. This man failed and is continuing to fail and should be reprimanded for not doing his job. now the inspector general acts as is he is oblivious to the happenings at SMMC yet he wants to shut it down.

  • lmao
    avatar

And one other thing. did the doctor have a valid license? all this is registered. The inspector general should know that.

All the crabs came out after 10 10 10 , you can now locate them as advisers, consultants & board members.
They had breakfast, lunch , dinner and is now looking for late night snack.!$?.
Called it " The fleecing of St. Maarten " .

We were not ready for 10 10 10.

    The crabs didn't come out after 10 10 10.

the greed, just was multiplied 10X10X10

Check everything out, evaluate it, and see.

Today it is Ruth, tomorrow it could be you or me
but have you seen the people protesting.
No, they that have money, the first words you hear from their mouth
I will fly out of here.
They got money, but God can block that.

God don't like ugly, and right now, we are all ugly
    as we all condone it.

This poor woman was living without a job since ECC closed, her happiness, was her little children, and grandchildren, and it was taken from her.

    It is so sad.
