Philipsburg:--- Ambulance personnel are threatening to hold industrial actions as of 11pm on Tuesday night for monies they claimed are owed to them for the overtime work they put in during the carnival season.
The emergency workers called on government to make the necessary payments because industrial actions could be consequential should there be an emergency during the night. On Tuesday evening, Minister of Health Cornelius De Weever said he was meeting with the ambulance workers and his intention was to find a solution to prevent industrial actions.
Up to press time the meeting was still in progress with the Minister and the Ambulance personnel.

This means, anyone get injured etc, we have to do like in the middle east. Throw them in cars and back of pickups and drive madly through traffic.

    To all the ambulance staff,

    More power to you guys.

No one in goverment has no clue how hard you guys work during carnival with al those people who don't know how to enjoy the carnival without being violent. Nor do they have a clue about during a hurricane when they are all home in their houses and we as medical staff have to stay in on the job in case emergency until that specific hurricane pa**ess.

How dare they not pay after you sacrifice everything.
They are so busy increasing their own salaries and can't seem to pay those who are actually working.

What a disgrace this goverment is. Shameful!
We need to get rid of them once and for all!

Privatize it - just like its done in many other countries
FREE AMBULANCE. or St.Johns Ambulance is a good model to follow for this....
    Limited funding from Public Health
The rest from public donation drives and NGO subsidization agreements.
This way you donate a few bucks a day---and see where your money goes to work.

It is strange people have so many comments on the crime
and NOBODY is supporting these ambulance workers.

    We are a sad nation.

Tomorrow if the ambulance don't reach for you, the list of critics, will be thousands,
YEAH.....poor thing lying there waiting on the ambulance.

    Or

They took so long to come.

Ambulance workers, I stand behind you.
