Because he was a nasty man. I never told my mother because she always took his side and would not have believe me anyways. So I handled it my way. I curse his a$$ out and he never tried that shit with me again. And from that day i stop calling him dad and started calling him by his first name . My mother always asked me why I call him by his name and I always say go ask him. My mother married him when I was 9 years old. I am not 36 and to this day my 2 kids and I still call him by his first name.

@Kelly and shame. correct. He is not still in court, he was convicted. When somebody is convicted for murder or robbery they show pictures. I understand it is maybe to hide or protect he identity from the young girl as to avoid more damage.. but still. On a small island people should be made aware of who is who ESPECIALLY if he functions/provides a public service!

It don't matter when a young underage girl or boy throws themselves at an adult....the adult should know better!!!!! Their is no excuse for a grown man or woman to have any sexual relationship with a minor!!!

@Was There. That is why i raise my kids alone without stepfather, because when it comes to my kids, I will kill anyone who try to or abuse them sexually. There is no law to protect kids, so I bring them in the world and I will do whatever it takes to protect them. Now they they are all adults , if I want a relationship I could have one. First thing i tell any man that talks to me, I have my kids and I take care of them alone and will kill anyone who abuse them sexually. So if they want to die all they do is just try.

@ Justice. Wish I'd known you 20 years ago. I would have sent my mother to you for lessons on the topic of a mother's responsibility. When my kids, girl 8 and boy 6 visits grandma, she forces them to call him grandpa but i forbid them because he did the same thing with my sister for years and she kept it a secret from mom. It started when she was 14 and continued until she left for Holland for school and only return to St. Maarten for vacation. I can't stop my kids from visiting grandma, but them calling him by his name he will always remember what he did. I taught my kids how to protect themselves from sexual predators from the first sign of a wrong touch. Trust me, they know what is a wrong touch because 2 years ago for our vacation I took them to the USA and enrolled them in a special cla** for children teaching them of wrong touches and to recognize potential dangers, family or strangers. There is no justice for children on this island and most of the time the community brands the kids as the instigators that attracts sexual predators. Shameful!
