Philipsburg:--- On Friday February 22nd, representatives from the Ministry of Public Health, Social Development, and Labor headed by Mrs. Maria Henry held a discussion with several CPOs at the Philipsburg Police Station. The main purpose of this discussion was to form a partnership between both departments along with other stakeholders in combating and minimizing the mosquito and rodent population on the island of Sint Maarten thereby reducing the risk of the dengue fever and other diseases.
The discussion was very informative and the CPOs were more than happy to form a partnership with the Health Department supporting this initiative. A presentation by the Public Health Department is forthcoming and meetings will be held with the other stakeholders in the very near future in regard to this topic.
