Coordinators of the much-anticipated 2013-2014 VOOC/Hype School Agendas are currently finalizing plans for the full-color glossy publication, which will focus on, among other things, depicting cultures represented in St. Maarten in their pictures.
Coordinators are trying to get in touch with representatives of several cultural associations or individuals on the island to assist in providing cultural outfits to be worn by male and female high school students to be depicted in the Agendas. Outfits will be returned once photos have been taken.
Several cultural groups have already committed to this. The team is urging representatives of the various associations to get in touch with Voice of our children or Hype as soon as possible: Curacao, Dominica, Dominican Republic, Guyana, Haiti, Jamaica, Suriname and the Netherlands.
Posters will be placed at the various secondary schools in the coming days inviting students interested in being depicted in cultural wear in the agendas to sign up either via the respective hype representative at their school, or on Pete's Photo Facebook page.
Other cultures that will be featured in the agenda are St. Maarten, India, China, Saba and Statia.
The agendas are being produced by Voice Of Our Children Foundation (VOOC) in collaboration with Hype and will be distributed among high schools and students by the end of the current academic year.
The educational agendas will contain a range of interesting and fun reading material including profiles of outstanding high school students, teachers and role models in the community as well as useful information for students preparing to pursue tertiary studies abroad.
