Man Stabbed In Cellphone Snatching.

stabbingfillin24102012Soualiga Road:--- On Wednesday March 20th, 2013 around 8:30pm, a police patrol unit was directed to the Melford Hazel Sports Complex on the Soualiga road regarding a stabbing incident.
Upon arrival of the patrol, it was confirmed that indeed a young man had been stabbed by an unknown person.
The victim who is a minor living at Over The Bank with the initials R.R. stated that while he was walking on the above mentioned road he was suddenly attacked by an unknown male person that tried to snatch his cellphone from him. When he resisted his attacker he was stabbed several times around his body by his assailant.
After committing this cowardly act, the assailant fled the scene of the crime. The victim was attended to by personnel of the Ambulance Department and taken to the SMMC for further medical attention. The detective department is investigating this crime further.


KPSM Warns Residents about Lighting Bush Fires close to homes.

On Wednesday March 20th, 2013 around 11:30am a police patrol from the uniform division saw a big dark cloud of smoke in the area of AJC Brouwers road.
Not knowing what was taking place and seeing that there are a lot of private homes in that area, the patrol immediately started to investigate and it was confirmed that there was indeed a fire but not a home.
Upon further investigation the patrol found that the fire was that of some bush that was cleared off a parcel of land that had gotten out of control.
The fire however was extinguished by neighbors and those whom had been clearing the parcel of land.
The parties in question were spoken to and advised to take better precautions when lighting bush fires that are very close to homes.

    If the a**ailant was unsuccessful in snatching the cellphone, it therefore means that the police have something to work with in terms of fingerprint analysis.
