SABA:---- The investigation with the codename Hector into the death on April 15th of a young woman found dead in The Bottom, Saba has intensified this week by the Police and the Public Prosecutor's Office. At the Dutch Forensic Institute (NFI) in Rijswijk this week an autopsy was carried out on the woman's body and the provisional conclusions indicate that this must be considered a crime. It will still take several weeks before the investigating team receives the complete results of the investigation from the Dutch Forensic Institute (NFI).
The Caribbean Netherland Police Force (KPCN) has meanwhile expanded the team that was busy last week with the investigation into the cause of the death and the circumstances of the death. That team was strengthened with specialists from the Recherché Samenwerking Team (RST). The Public Prosecutor's Office is also making extra manpower available. The investigation will be carried out from Saba as well as Bonaire.
The victim is the 24 year old K.L. Guda, of American Nationality. In the interest of the investigation, at the moment, no further announcements can be made.
Onderzoek Hector gaat uit van een misdrijf
Het onderzoek met de naam Hector naar de dood van de op 15 april in The Bottom, Saba aan getroffen jonge vrouw is deze week door politie en Openbaar Ministerie geïntensiveerd. Bij het Nederlands Forensisch Instituut (NFI) in Rijswijk is deze week een sectie op het lichaam van de vrouw verricht en de voorlopige conclusies wijzen uit dat er uitgegaan moet worden van een misdrijf. Het zal nog enkele weken duren voordat het onderzoeksteam beschikt over de volledige resultaten van het onderzoek door het NFI.
Het Korps Politie Caribisch Nederland heeft het team dat vorige week bezig was met onderzoek naar de doodsoorzaak en naar de omstandigheden van het overlijden inmiddels uitgebreid. Dat team was al versterkt met specialisten van het Recherche Samenwerking Team (RST). Ook het OM maakt extra mankracht vrij.
Het onderzoek zal zowel vanuit Saba als vanuit Bonaire worden uitgevoerd.
Het slachtoffer betreft de 24-jarige K.L. Guda, met de Amerikaanse (US) nationaliteit. In het belang van het onderzoek kunnen op dit moment geen nadere mededelingen worden gedaan.
