Gendarmes investigating murder of 67 year old veterinarian who was killed in an armed robbery. (UPDATED)

vethome07012017Marigot:--- Marigot:--- Gendarmes are busy investigating the murder of  67-year-old Jean-Louis Torquin, a well-known veterinarian who provides 24 hours services 7-days a week at his Mont Vernon-2 clinic.
SMN News learned that intruders entered the gated home around 9 pm Friday night to commit an armed robbery where they shot the victim dead.
Neighbors in the Mont Vernon area who knows the “vet” are still in shock as they know the elderly couple to be very friendly and peaceful. Jean-Louis was providing a much-needed service to the community and also assists with the treating of stray animals that were rescued.
Commandant of the Gendarmerie Sebastien Manzoni confirmed that the gendarmes are busy with the investigation. Manzoni said that for the moment no further details on the killing will be released as the investigation is ongoing.
