Minister Duncan we all love you and hope you get well soon. However, it's time you retire and step aside, because you are not the one with the political will to get tough on crime..

Am I to understand that the minister has no confidence in the SMMC so chooses to fly to Curacao instead? Admin, your reporting is a bit confusing.
Look at the speed he got through with SZV, though. I hope all people rich or poor can get that treatment from them, too instead of having to wait until they are dying to be flown out.
I hope everything works out well for the minister and that he will be very careful in the future when it comes to fish bone.

I am confused. The island have a hospital so why is it that Mr. Duncan have to be flown to Curacao to remove a fish bone that is located close to his lung? aren't the doctors working at the hospital capable of doing the surgery? and if not, how comes?

I hope everything works out ok in Curacao.

What if something happen and the weather is real bad, and no planes can fly, where do we go???

I stated yesterday that since there is a new change in ownership at the AUC Medical School on the Dutch side. Now is the time all parties concerned should create terms for an MOU between DeVry, the SMMC as well as the Government..All Physician based clinics should also be able to take in medical student(s) depending on negotiable specifics, staff qualifications, supervision, ect...and specialty clinics should have the legal opportunity to take in medical/paramedical students for training/learning opportunities with the focus being on the concerns and community health issues... Greater emphasis must be placed on evidence based treatment as well as published and publically explained research projects. Which can be readily explained with this type of approach .... All available qualified healthcare personel on island should be involved. No exclusions...The idea that we will forever be sending people off Island due to the lack of qualified medical professionals and healthcare offices is what is increasing the cost of healthcare.(.Checkups in Holland, CUR, PR, Miami..).Personally I can understand why some would not want to be admited into SMMC and how it got it's image..ie..."Seeing the sames ole same ole"... However this is the time to build up the Healthcare system...It is a big part of the necessary foundation needed to build up the SXM society. A healthy and safe population should be a priority of government ... Anyway... Get well soon, Minister Duncan...

So, if it is a center, let get government to turn it into a hospital. We had St. Rose Hospital and that place took better care of the people. I guess because at that time it was a hand full and could be managed. Today the place is overpopulated with all type of sicknesses which the doctors are ill equip to deal with.
Those doctors that have been practising for twenty or more years should be required to take advanced courses to hold on to their SVZ licenses/contracts.

no hospital, no psychiatric care, no decent prison nor resocialisation program, no money.... good job giving our island country status while we dont have (sufficient) funds and facilities. but the rich don't care, they will just fly abroad in crisis right?!

ah well, i don't agree with all duncans decisions but i definitely wish him well. don't mix up politics with humanity.

PHILIPSBURG--Minister of Justice Roland Duncan was flown yesterday in the evening to Curaçao for medical treatment. A source close to the Minister revealed that there was an obstruction of air to his lungs. The medical procedure was described as minor and if allowed by doctors the Minister should return to work today. “There shouldn’t be any disruption to his work or the Ministry… He’s definitely going to try his best to be at all of the events because the Queen’s visit is important.” said the source. The Minister was said to be looking forward to regaining his health. This is the first time the Minister has been treated for this medical complaint which was described as not serious.
Did he get a ride back on Queens Airplane or the private jet has to bring him back for USD13000 plus the Operation in Curacao??

this proves that even the law makers KNOW tthat the doctors in the hospitalare not competentand dont trust they own life to them,My wuestion is why does the rest of have to put our life in they hands and we all pay tax just like the law makers.
I am sorry that he is sick and my prayers for his speedy recovery and gods healing hands on him.
But lets be fair,a country is nothing without a people to govern,healthy people that means that we all deserve the same and health-care.
