Tropical Storm (TS) Nadine does not pose a threat to the country and is forecast to pass several hundred miles to the North of the island in the coming days.
The Office of Disaster Management (ODM) does advise residents and the business community to remain prepared and ready to take action in the event of a hurricane threat.
The 2012 Atlantic hurricane season is now one of just 19 hurricane seasons over the past 162 years to have fourteen or more tropical storms. Nadine's formation date of September 10 put 2012 in 5th place for earliest formation date of the season's 14th tropical storm.
As the ODM annual theme says, "It only takes one," continue to maintain a state of preparedness until the end of the season.
The remaining names of potential storms for the 2012 season are: Oscar, Patty, Rafael, Sandy, Tony, Valerie and William.
The hurricane season runs through November 30.
