Open Letter to Minister of Finance.

Dear Minister of Finance Mr. Martin Hassink,

Some time ago I published my opinion in the local media, requesting government to set aside the amount of US $. 2,000,000.00 to assist landowners with expenditures ranging from the huge Cadastre, land measuring, notary, legal and lawyer fees etc. to be able to make use of their properties, sitting there for years, only to create more complications in finding the rightful owners of these sometimes extensive properties.

As you know, there is no more government land to be gotten while many of those who hold titles to government long lease land, simply can't do anything with it or just hold it for the sole purpose of "speculation".

Since I have become known as an active "activist" in defense of illegitimate children and other unfortunate persons, I have come to know that many can obtain their rights to succession land if only they could afford expensive litigation, and more and more of them as well as legitimate owners are coming to me for assistance but because of the lack of financing for their purposes, they unfortunately pass on leaving their property to an uncertain future and the suffering goes on and on.

In view of the above, I, on behalf of these unfortunately people request you to seriously look into the possibility of setting something aside in the next budget to assist these persons, even if they have to pay it back.

I trust that you will understand by putting yourself in these people's positions and actually do something to assist.

A confirmation of receipt of this message will be highly appreciated.

Thank you for you time and understanding.

Yours truly,

Norman C. Wathey
