The U.N. went on to say, "it was the largest survey ever to focus on crime in the Caribbean. The U.N. Officials singled out Jamaica, Guyana, and Trinidad for alarming levels of gang-related homicides that almost doubled from 2006 to 2009. Jamaica has the world's third-highest murder rate, with about 60 murders per 100,000 inhabitants, while Trinidad and Guyana reported a fivefold increase in its murder rate over the past decade and now has 36 killings per 100,000 people."The report challenges governments of the English and Dutch Caribbean to action, said Trinidad Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar", adding that she supports the report's recommendations. They forgot to mention St. Maarten, since we have had 18 murders last year which puts us with a population of 50,000 people on the Dutch side at around 36 killings per 100,000 people,
We all may agree with the UN's report. However, we must be very wary of the UN's agenda of a "one world government". Isn't it this same UN that tied most governments' hands with their so call human rights treaties? Remember after Jamaica and Guyana's independence, the socialist governments of the day went on to disarm all law abiding citizens. In 1972, the political situation in Jamaica had so seriously deteriorated that there were constant shootings and gun battles throughout the city of Kingston and in many of the outlying parishes (counties) between members of the ruling and opposition parties. In years past no one had even had to lock their doors, but now many people hardly dared venture out of their homes. Isn't it exactly the same here in St. Maarten today?
The Jamaican government decided that the only solution to this volatile situation was to declare martial law overnight, and demanded that all guns and bullets owned by anyone but the police and the military be turned into the police within 24 hours. The government decreed that anyone caught with even one bullet would be immediately, and without trial, incarcerated in what was essentially a barbed-wire enclosed concentration camp which had been speedily erected in the middle of Kingston. In true Gestapo fashion, the government referred to this camp as "the gun court." Guyana, Trinidad and the rest of the Caribbean went on to follow Jamaica's lead and disarmed all of its law abiding citizens. Hugo Chávez has also disarmed all of the good citizens of Venezuela. Now, only his goons and criminals are armed. Several years now we have seen the results of forced disarmament throughout the Caribbean.
Not until we stop treating armed robbers, rapist and home invaders as honorable members of society, will we see a reduction of crime on St. Maarten and the entire Caribbean. We are urging our parliament to be extremely weary of signing any treaties in the guise of fighting crime, including the so-called BOB. This is a gross intrusion and invasion of privacy by the government, that will take away more of our individual freedoms and liberties. It will not reduce the crime rate, but will only serve to make law-abiding citizens criminals, same as what our anti-gun laws of the eighties have done... We urge our government to stop being lap dogs to the UN and all outside entities, which interest is to serve their own socialist agenda. The UN's motto is "One must not look at himself/herself as an individual, but must work in the interest of the whole", directly out of the bible of Marks, Lenin and Engels. The UN and its umbrella origination concept is the same as a bee hive. All workers must be programed to work for the hive, without questioning authority, In other words programmed obedient robots. I once overheard a board member of the Chamber of Commerce say to someone "Your children belong to the state; after all they have Dutch passports. Don't They?" Supposedly, this is a person representing business and free enterprise. One is no longer an individual, but a servant of the state. Now, if he is not a communist, then he is a Forensic Scientist, as in I See Dead People.
