CUL DE SAC:--- The newly incorporated foundation Soualiga Social Movement had a successful official launch Monday night at the conference room of the new location of MichMar Agencies in the Yogesh Building. The motto of the foundation boldly states: to promote social awareness while encouraging participation and inclusion of the people of St. Maarten, for the progressive and sustainable development of our nation.
President Alston Lourens thanked the Notary Office SPS Civil Law Notaries, for waiving their notarial incorporation fees and all of their initial donors for their donations to this movement. Lourens proudly stated to the attendees "because of the great support of our donors and supporters we are able to hit the ground running in 2013". "We have our t-shirts and promotional material, our Facebook page boasts a 'friends of friends' reach of 49,414 people everytime we post, so let's give them something to think about!"
Board members discussed upcoming meetings and projects such as a Social Summit, Community Cultural Week and other projects for the elderly and unemployed.
