Collectivity to Start Census Registration --- Residents Asked to Cooperate.

Marigot:--- The Collectivity of St. Martin will begin its census registration between January 17th and February 23rd, 2013. The objective of the census is not only to count the number of people living in France, it is also monitor annually the evolution of population, communities, and society more generally. Whether in nurseries, hospitals, pharmacies, housing, public transportation, neighborhood regeneration, sports facilities, etc., your responses are essential to help your elected officials to better meet your needs.
In 2013, part of the territory is identified. In fact, each year a survey is organized by the Community and INSEE in the municipalities of 10,000 inhabitants or more, with a sample of 8% of their population. Thus, it may be that you are identified this year, when another member of your neighborhood is not.
If you are concerned, a letter from the Chairman with an information notice will be given. An enumerator will come to your home from 17 January, 2013. You can recognize it by its official triple coloured map which contains a photograph and the signature of the mayor. It will help you to fill out a sheet for housing identified an individual form for each person living in the dwelling. The few minutes you take to respond to the questionnaires are important. The quality of the census depends on your participation. It is above all a civic act, but also a legal obligation under the law of 7 June, 1951. All your answers are confidential. They are transmitted to INSEE and cannot be subject to any administrative or tax.
