Five parliamentary meetings planned for next week.

PHILIPSBURG:--- Parliamentarians will have a busy time next week with five meetings planned starting January 22 with the last one on January 25.

The Central Committee will meet on Tuesday afternoon at 2:00pm in the General Assembly Chamber of the House of Parliament at Wilhelmina Straat #1 in Philipsburg.

This meeting is a continuation from last where with respect to the St. Maarten Medical Center. The meeting was requested by the United People's (UP) Party faction, and the Minister of Public Health, Social Development and Labour Hon. Cornelius de Weever will be present to provide answer to questions asked in the first round by parliamentarians last year.

Members of Parliament (MPs) from the Permanent Justice Committee will be visiting the Point Blanche Prison.

The work visit will take place on Wednesday, 23 January at 9:00am.

Members of the parliamentary committee of Justice are Chairman Hon. MP Patrick Illidge, Vice Chairman Hon. MP George Pantophlet, Hon. MP Petrus Leroy De Weever, Hon. MP Gracita Arrindell, and Hon. MP Janchi Leonard.

A Central Committee meeting is planned for Wednesday afternoon January 23 at 2:00pm. It is a continuation of a meeting from the latter part of 2012 with the Minister of Justice Hon. Roland Duncan, where the Minister made a presentation about the Justice Park. Minister Duncan will be present in this meeting to respond to questions that were posed to him during the 2012 parliamentary session.

On Thursday, January 24 at 2:00pm in the afternoon, the Central Committee will meet with the Committee of Financial Supervision CFT with respect to the public finances of the country.

On Friday, January 25 at 10:00am in the morning, the Central Committee will meet with the Minister of Finance Hon. Roland Tuitt. This meeting is a continuation from the adjourned session in the latter part of 2012. The Minister of Finance will be present to continue to answer questions posed by MPs.

Members of the public are always welcome to be present in the General Assembly Chamber during public meetings to follow the parliamentary session scheduled for that particular day.
