ambulancepersonnelreceivesadvancedtraumacoursecertificates21012013Philipsburg (DCOMM):--- After completion of the Advanced Assessment and Treatment of Trauma course, 16 personnel from the Ambulance Department received their certificates from the World Wide International Emergency Medical Services (WIEMS).

The course, recognized by the American Heart Association, has some new guidelines, according to Doreen Gumbs-Vines, whose company provided the training.

Minister of Public Health, Labor, and Social Development, Cornelius de Weever said that he was pleased about the event, whereby all personnel passed the examinations to get their certificates. "It shows that you are committed; the same way how my office and the government is committed to you."

With the more serious accidents that are taking place, it is essential that our men and women are well trained. Keep on moving forward, and congrats to you all.

Cylred Richardson, Head of the Ambulance Department, said that he was glad to have the training organization here to provide a much valuable service to his department. It was an intense week, but we all came out better. I want to congratulate the participants. Keep up the good work.
