Philipsburg:--- On Friday March 15th, 2013 around 4:00pm, security personnel from the WIB detected that unknown persons were busy skimming their ATM machines in the Philipsburg area. Upon further investigation, it was indeed confirmed that these unknown persons had set up an electronic device at one of the ATM machines in the Philipsburg Area.
The security personnel immediately observed all movements around the ATMs and the police department was alerted. After approximately 20 minutes, one of the suspects returned to the ATM machine and while conducting his skimming techniques was apprehended by the bank's security personnel on the scene.
The suspect was handed over to the police patrol that responded. The suspect, a male from Bulgarije with the initials G.H., and the electronic skimming device were handed over to the detectives.
The chief security office from the WIB filed an official statement on behalf of the Bank. This case will be further investigated by the detective department.
