Philipsburg:--- The Prime Minister of St. Maarten Sarah Wescot Williams during the Council of Ministers' weekly press briefing on Wednesday gave a breakdown of the monies that were secured for the Government Administration Building on Pond Island. Wescot Williams said while personnel are not using the building, government is using the property for archiving at this time.
Responding to questions posed by SMN News regarding furniture and when personnel of the government will move over to the building, Wescot Williams said that the last time they discussed furniture for the building was in 2007 and the government of St. Maarten still has to secure funding for the furniture while they have no set date as to when they will begin using the building. The Prime Minister said that the way the offices were built in the new building it is not possible for government to pick up the furniture it has in the current building and move over.
