Government Civil Servants Trapped without Doctor Cards --- SZV and POE Expected to meet on Tuesday.

Philipsburg:--- Several civil servants found themselves in a predicament late last week when they found out that SZV sent a letter to the St. Maarten Medical Center, doctors, and pharmacies informing them that they will not be issuing anymore extensions on the expired government doctor cards.
A few civil servants told SMN News that their doctor cards expired since December 31st, 2012 and to date they have not received their new cards for the year 2013. SMN News has been reliably informed that the management of SZV has been sending emails and other correspondences to government informing them that they will stop the extensions on the old doctor cards because they are of the opinion that all civil servants working for government should now be in possession of their new card.

A source close to the personnel department of government said that the personnel department never responded to the correspondences SZV has been sending them over the past six months, but now that SZV took the necessary actions an email was sent to SZV informing them that there are still a number of civil servants without doctor a card. The source said the personnel department and SZV management are expected to meet on Tuesday to work on a solution. Efforts made by SMN News to reach the interim Director of SZV Reginald Willemsberg by telephone proved futile on Monday.
