Philipsburg:--- Member of Parliament Romaine Laville who wanted to become the Minister of TEATT got what was predicted by many persons when he announced that he withdrew his support from the NA/DP/I-3 coalition to become a Minister to form the third Government in a period of three years since St. Maarten obtained its country status.
SMN News learnt that the Laville failed the screening because Member of Parliament Jules James filed a complaint against him for threatening him with a gun in the House of Parliament. A second complaint of the same nature was filed by Isidore York (Mighty Dow) last year when Laville allegedly threatened him with a gun inside the Government Administration Building while arguing over the Tempo Turns 7 show that was sponsored by the Government of St. Maarten. Another concern for those that conducted the screening and those in the justice system is the allegations Laville made against the leader of the United People's Party Theodore Heyliger whom he said offered bribes to him twice.
SMN News learnt that Laville already removed the sign from his office door in the House of Parliament since last week as he was certain that he would become a Minister. Others said Laville is busy negotiating with the leader of the United People's Party Theodore Heyliger because Heyliger is desperate to get back in office. The question now is whether or not Laville will go back around the table to negotiate the price of his seat or if he will remain as a Member of Parliament.
