WILLEMSTAD/PHILIPSBURG:--- Hans Wesselink (66) will be, for the next six months, the interim Chief Public Prosecutor for St. Maarten. He succeeds Hans Mos who returned to the Netherlands on August 1, 2013. Wesselink arrived on Sint Maarten with his wife on Friday August 30th. Wesselink knows the island, he was Prosecutor in St. Maarten from 1989 to 1993 and at that time the first Prosecutor living on the island. Wesselink occupied several positions at the Public Prosecutor's Office in the Netherlands in Rotterdam, Den Haag, Den Bosch, and Amsterdam. Since March 1, 2012, he left the Public Prosecutor's Office for his retirement. Hans Wesselink is in the Netherlands part of the "Toetsingscommissie Gerechtelijke Deskundigen" and also editor of the "Nieuwsbrief Strafrect".
