Maurice Lake visited the district of Sucker Garden specifically the area known as the Keys to check out a small project that is making a difference in the community.

The Minister's going back to basics approach shows that simple repairs make a world of difference.

"Repairs to the bridges in Sucker Garden, Keys, and King of the Seas area improve safety for pedestrians and vehicles. It's all about going back to basics and improving the quality of life for the people.

"Member of Parliament Hon. Romain Laville also suggested about the bridge repair and possibly widening them. With the little funds we have we are trying our best to do what we can to improve the different districts and addressing the safety issues," Minister Hon. Maurice Lake pointed out on Friday.

Ministry VROMI Department of Infrastructure Management executed the bridge repairs which entailed the repair of the entrance bridge to the Keys and three bridges on the King of the Seas road which were in dire need of repair.

Minister Lake pointed out on Friday that his back to basics approach also entails putting young people to work.

"The young adults will be playing a very important role in helping their communities by enhancing their districts by fixing and repairing the little things that don't costs a lot of money but can make a big difference in the lives of the residents.

"As I meet with the various Community Councils, we will be doing a lot more. Ministry VROMI will also utilize its own staff keeping in mind the precarious financial situation of the country," Minister Hon. Maurice Lake said on Friday.
