PHILIPSBURG:--- The 8th Annual SHTA Crystal Pineapple Awards is around the corner. On Friday November 22nd 2013 the association will once again be gathering the 'Who's Who' of the hospitality, tourism and trade industry and community of St. Maarten. This event has been established by the St. Maarten Hospitality and Trade Association to recognize outstanding performance and those individuals, companies and organization which have made significant contributions in to tourism industry and the island as a whole.
The Crystal Pineapple Awards Fundraiser gives the private sector the opportunity to put forward the people that should really be recognized for their outstanding performance or contribution; may it be an excellent employee, exceptional manager or someone who has really contributed towards tourism, the environment, and the economy.
SHTA's famous Silent Auction will also be part of the program. The event will be filled with fun, excitement and recognitions. From the champagne cocktail hour before the event, the food stations style dinner buffet, and great ambiance, to the live entertainment and dancing at the end of the evening, this night will be one to remember for both nominees and attending guests.
Nominations can be submitted to Selection Committee from September 23rd to October 22nd, 2013. The committee will then select a maximum number of nominees per category and digitize the results for voting. Voting can take place from October 25th to November 8th, 2013, via internet and social media. Price Waterhouse Coopers will once again be in charge of overseeing the voting procedure.
So mark your calendars! Nominate somebody who you know has done an outstanding job. "Appreciation is a wonderful thing: It makes what is excellent in others be part to us as well" So November 22nd is not only their time to shine but the Island's as well!
