Disciples Toastmasters Inducts four new members.

disciplestoastmastersinductsfournewmembers23092013CUL DE SAC:--- On September 22, 2013, the Disciples Toastmasters Club inducted four new members. These members are Sharon Layne, Rose-Anne D. Segnia, Patricia Peter and Clayton Felix.
Sharon Layne's desire to improve her writing and public speaking skills influenced her decision to become a toastmaster. "As a teacher, it is always a motivation for my students to see me as a role model, in and out of the classroom," says the Miss Mature winner 2012-2013. Most important for her, Ms. Layne recognizes that the organization fosters leadership, friendship and togetherness in an ever changing and challenging world.
Rose-Anne D. Segnia is a graphic artist who became a toastmaster when she realized the organization can truly help her become a competent communicator. She looks forward to enhancing her self esteem to confront situations in an amicable manner.
The entrepreneur, Patricia Peter, is working on improving her communication skills and learning how to present herself to an audience with confidence. As an entrepreneur, Patricia embraces opportunities and is happy to be part of an organization that will help her grow in a friendly and encouraging way.
Clayton Felix is the husband of the club's vice president education. He has seen how his wife transformed from someone who was insecure and unsure of her speaking skills to a dynamic speaker who now 'wows' the audience with her speeches. Clayton would like to do likewise and hence his reason for becoming a toastmaster. That evening, Clayton gave his icebreaker, which is the first speech of a toastmaster.
The other new members have already given their icebreakers, and as Sharon stated in her first speech, 'Now that I've spoken, the ice has been broken". Indeed, the ice has been broken for all four new members. The rest of the Disciples Toastmasters Club will embrace them as they grow to become powerful speakers and leaders.
The Disciples Club meets every second and fourth Sunday at St. Maarten Academy's academic campus, at 4:45pm to 6:30pm. The next meeting will be held on October 13. All are welcome to attend this club where leaders are made.
