Armed Robbery in Mullet Bay.

armedrobberyfillin13082012MULLET BAY:--- On Sunday morning around 1:30am, the uniformed patrol out of the Police substation in Simpson Bay was dispatched to the grounds of Mullet Bay for an armed robbery.
Upon the arrival of the uniformed patrol at Mullet Bay in the vicinity of the Golf shop they were met by a group of four persons all of French nationality.
The group informed the patrol that they were not too long ago rob by an unknown male person when they had parked their car at said location.
The suspect had grabbed on to the shoulder bag of a female that had exited the car and while the suspect was trying to remove this from her a male person that was together with her in the car came to her assistance only to be assaulted by the armed robber.
The robber whom had a knife in his possession used this against the male person and cut him in his face and on his arm. He also received some punches in his face where as the male victim lost a tooth during this assault.
Personnel from the Ambulance Department whom were also summoned to the scene treated the victim for his injuries at the scene. The victim was later transported by his friends to the hospital on the French part of the island for further treatment.
After committing this cowardly act, the suspect got unto a scooter that was waiting for him. The scooter had another male person on it. Both suspects then fled in the direction of Lowlands.
The Detective Department is further investigating this case.
The Police Department is asking the general public for any assistance in this case and also to be more vigilant when parking or walking in these dark areas. The Police Department has also enhanced their visibility in these areas.

Police Arrest Suspects Purchasing Jewelry with Stolen Credit Cards.

On Sunday midday around 12:10pm the patrol from the uniformed department in Philipsburg was dispatched to Front Street where a group of unknown male persons were busy purchasing jewelry with stolen credit cards.
The caller also give the police dispatcher the description of the suspects which were rapidly apprehended by our quick response bike patrol team.
The suspects were brought over to the Philipsburg Police station.
Further investigation proved that the three suspects all from Malaysia had already purchased some jewelry with these stolen credit cards that were still in their possession. All items were confiscated pending further investigation.
The Hotel room where the suspects were staying was also searched in the presence of an Acting Public Prosecutor. Some other stolen credit cards were found in the room and were also confiscated in connection with investigation.
A total amount of 100 credit cards were found in this case.
The Detective Department is further investigating this case and the suspects remain in police custody.
