GREAT BAY:--- TelEm Group's Personnel Association will be hosting a Round-The-Pond Bike-A-Thon event Saturday in collaboration with the Positive Foundation to mark the occasion of Breast Cancer Awareness month on St. Maarten.
The Bike-A-Thon sets off at 7:00 am sharp taking a route from the TelEm Group Building, right at the Salt-pickers roundabout, left at the old Van Dorp Building, left at the old Paper Garden Building, up Frontstreet and onto the Sucker Garden Road.
Cyclists will then pedal along the Arch Road, into the Illidge Road and left at the Today Building to take the route along the Pondfill back to the TelEm Group Building.
The Personnel Association says all funds raised from the event will go to the Positive Foundation for the group's various breast cancer awareness programs.
"In order to raise funds we are asking participants to pay $5 for each bicycle in the Bike-A-Thon," said Personnel Association board member Lucrecia Lynch.
She said the $5 entrance fee will also entitle each participant to a drink of water and a snack following the ride.
"We would like everyone to make a good showing by wearing TelEm Group red, or breast cancer pink as a show of support.
