PHILIPSBURG:--- On Monday January 6, the Social Economic Council (SER) presented the library with the very first copy of its new information booklet, along with hard copies of the full range of advices that were submitted to government since the SER came into existence in 2011.

Copies of the SER information booklet are now available to the general public free of charge through the library. The booklet gives the reader an overview of the functioning of the SER, while the board, staff and objectives are further outlined. Making copies of the information booklet available at the library is the first step in a campaign to inform the public on the workings of the SER that will unfold during the year 2014.

The public can now visit the library and read up on advices such as; establishment of a National Library for Sint Maarten, AOV, crime prevention, minimum wage, short term labor contracts, emancipation day and the monetary union/dollarization. As the SER continues to strive to inform the public on all socio-economic matters, the advisory body hopes that its most recent effort will reach young adults and teenagers in particular. The SER information booklet is written in English, is user friendly and specifically written with an eye on educational purposes.

The Philipsburg Jubilee Library, already the go-to place for all publications produced in and about Sint Maarten, can now also offer the public the opportunity to peruse all solicited and unsolicited SER advices that are made public to this date.

The SER is delighted to cooperate with the Philipsburg Jubilee Library in making essential socio-economic information available to the general public, and looks forward to a continued fruitful working relationship.

All SER publications, and digital copies of the SER information booklet will also be available for download on www.sersxm.org.
