GREAT BAY:--- The Ministry of Public Health, Social Development and Labor will launch their "Putting People First" initiative in the coming weeks. Honorable Minister de Weever stated that this Ministry is the 'People's Ministry', and all that we do is geared towards the improvement of quality of life for our citizens.
Last year the Ministry solidified its push to meet the needs of the people by entrenching their products and services within the districts, by conducting workshops, training for the civil servants, and information sessions to create the needed transparency for all. Honorable Minister de Weever is pleased with the turn-around in services at all the execution agencies- and takes note of the Ombudsman report which has indicated a significant decline in citizens' complaints over the calendar year 2013 for the Ministry.
"We're doing something right, we're doing better – but we can excel to do our best," said Minister de Weever. "In this light, there are many who are unable to reach out to us, so we will reach out to them," the Minister went on to say.
A team, consisting of senior management of all executing agencies, will visit households within key neighborhoods, to gain deeper insight on the needs of the people and to more importantly address these needs on the spot. Minister de Weever will join the team, and has committed to continue the work which was started last year – Putting People First – for the betterment of our citizens and the betterment of our Country.
