PHILIPSBURG:--- On Monday, February 17th, 2014 the Participant Foundation received a check of Naf. 48,088.- from Foundation Cooperative Funds. This grant is part of the 4-year project "Opportunities for Youngsters" focusing on positive initiatives for youngsters in the Dutch Caribbean.
The receiving Foundation has a very interesting and positive program called "Vision of the Youth" (VOY). Fifty-five young peer-teachers and ten youth peer-counselors have been trained to work alongside the the faculty of Milton Peters College and Sundial School to help their peers graduate with the highest marks possible.
NGO's/Foundations who are planning to also execute social and community projects are invited to attend an information session organized by Cooperative Funds on Saturday, February 22nd. The Advisory Council is looking forward to many interesting local community project proposals and wants to emphasize the open access to funding possibilities within the framework of the objectives of the organization.The event will take place in the Parish Hall in the Back street (opposite the Cultural Center) and starts at 3 pm sharp.
