Opening of Raoul Illidge Sports Complex Slated for March 7th --- Minister of Education and Sports pleaded with users to take care of the facility.

patricialourensphilip26022014PHILIPSBURG:--- Minister of Education and Sports Patricia Lourens-Philip announced on Wednesday at the Council of Ministers' weekly press briefing that the reopening of the Raoul Illidge Sports Complex is slated for March 7th, 2014. Minister Lourens said that the first phase of the renovation has been completed. The Minister explained that maintenance of the facility will be done by the foundation Upkeep Sports Facility. She said persons that are interested in using the facility will have to contact Upkeep in order to obtain permission to use the facility. The Upkeep Sports Facility Foundation will be responsible for the maintenance and scheduling of events that will take place at Raoul Illidge Sports Complex.

Minister Lourens-Philip further asked users to take care of the facility when they use it. When asked how much monies government spent on the first phase of the renovation, the Minister said that government invested four million guilders for the first phase. The Minister could not give a date as to when exactly the second phase of the renovation will take place.
