34TH ANNUAL ST. MAARTEN HEINEKEN REGATTA MADE POSSIBLE THROUGH COAST GUARD, RED CROSS, & SEA RESCUE FOUNDATION EFFORTS.

PHILIPSBURG:--- The 34th annual St. Maarten Heineken Regatta is slated to take place March 6-9, 2014 and the entire island community has gotten involved to ensure the Regatta goes off without a hitch. Countless volunteers and numerous dedicated organizations help this world-renowned event live up to its worthy motto: Serious Fun.

Several organizations are playing prominent roles in keeping all the sailors and party-goers safe and secure both at sea and ashore. Coast Guard St. Maarten ensures safety while sailors are afloat and is available from any phone by dialing 913. The volunteers with Red Cross St. Maarten handle safety at all of the many parties for which the Regatta is known for and on average about 10 volunteers are ready to assist at each venue. On the racecourse, the St. Maarten Sea Rescue Foundation is always close at hand should an incident arise.

The St. Maarten Heineken Regatta is an iconic island event that sailors worldwide look forward to all year, and it is all made possible by the St. Maarten community.
