PHILIPSBURG:--- The 2015 edition of the St. Maarten Hospitality & Trade Association's (SHTA) in-room publication Visit St. Maarten has received incredible support.
Over 95% of the island's hotels and resorts have agreed to distribute the publication in their rooms. Advertising in the publication and interest in its media program is strong and has already exceeded expectations.
"We would like to thank everyone for their support in ensuring that our partnership with North South Net (NSN) in this new publication, starting with the 2015 edition, is the premiere and exclusive tourist publication. With your continued support, the complete program associated with the publication will serve to highlight and promote the entire island as a desirable destination for travelers" said Karen Hana, Executive Director of the SHTA.
Under the direction of NSN, the publication and the website VisitStMaarten.com are now starting to focus on the development of the content and the launch of the redesigned VisitStMaarten.com. The website's emphasis on content will ensure that it gets a high ranking in Google's search listings.
The publication will provide island visitors with an insider's view to the splendors of the island. In order to guarantee that the publication stays close to its local island roots, a local editorial board will be developed. The first meeting of the editorial board will be held in mid-July.
In addition to the in-room publication Visit St. Maarten, two stand-alone guides, dining and shopping, and a special 8-page map with SHTA's members and advertisers' locations pinpointed will be published — 30,000 copies of each guide and the map will be distributed in high traffic areas throughout the island.
NSN has a team of individuals with years of experience in the travel and tourism industry. They have worked in advertising, marketing, public relations, promotions as well as digital and social media and, as a result, have developed programs that reach consumers in a variety of very targeted and effective ways. The print and radio exposure coupled with the online and mobile presence will clearly have a tremendous impact on creating awareness of the St. Maarten product resulting in additional visitors to the island through a powerful and custom tailored integrated marketing and communications program.
