PHILIPSBURG:--- Member of Parliament Romain Laville who ran on the United People's Party slate in 2010 announced during the parliamentary debate that he will not be contesting the 2014 parliamentary elections. Laville said that he will put his support behind a candidate that will be contesting the election but he did not say who that candidate is.
Laville also called on government and parliament to execute the motions that were adopted by the Parliament of St. Maarten. Furthermore, Laville made clear that the purchase of the Vorst property does not have his support due to the high price the Minister of VROMI signed off on.
