ZAGERSGUT:--- On Thursday morning at approximately 10:00am, a Philipsburg police patrol while driving on the crossing of Zagersgut Road and Bush Road saw a white Nissan Alerma, with vey dark tinted windows, with the French license plate 5184 AAB. The patrol ordered the driver to stop in order to conduct a routine traffic control. The driver refused to stop and increased the speed of the vehicle in order to get away from the police. A high speed chase followed through the areas of Mary's Fancy, Saunders, Ebenezer, Reward, and Over the Pond area. During the chase the driver of the suspect vehicle collided with several other vehicles, did not stop and continued fleeing. On the A. Th. Illidge road in the vicinity of AKI Supermarket the suspect collided with a vehicle causing extensive damage. As a result of the impact the impact the suspect's vehicle could not continue. The suspect jumped out of the vehicle and ran towards the hills. Several other police patrols came to the scene to assist in finding the suspect. During this incident the A. Th. Illidge Road was closed-off and traffic was diverted to allow the police traffic department to conduct their investigation. The entire area was searched, however the suspect was not found. The traffic department has located at least 8 vehicles that were damaged by the fleeing suspect's vehicle. The investigation is still ongoing.
