PM gave order to pay former PSS Director while appeal of the verdict has been filed.

PHILIPSBURG:--- Prime Minister Sarah Wescot Williams who is also the shareholder representative of Postal Services St. Maarten (PSS) announced on Wednesday that she gave instructions to make the necessary payments to the former director of PSS Denicio Richardson. Those payments she said are in accordance with the verdict rendered by the Court of First Instance.
Wescot Williams said that while she gave instructions that the payments be made, the Government of St. Maarten and PSS have filed an appeal on the verdict since they are not in agreement with parts of the verdict. She said that government has been held responsible by the court for the payment to the former director Denicio Richardson. "This was a request made by Mr. Richardson and the court granted the request. I think this verdict shows that the shareholder (government) and government owned companies are one and I think this could set the wrong precedent and if this thinking is upheld by the courts then government and government owned companies would have to carefully review the relationship between government and government owned companies."
